Vision and Cognitive Performance, and Motor Reaction
Course Description:
Cognitive training focuses on how fast and accurately your brain processes information. This differs from mental training which focuses on how you manage your mindset, emotions, and motivation. Thus, to sharpen our brain’s cognitive function, we use visual and cognitive training to more accurately perceive and quickly respond to our environment. The information provided in this presentation shows the visual and cognitive information processing loop and breaks down the sub-processes of human vision and cognition. This can be explained with see, decide, execute or input-process-output or see, think, and do.
Learning objectives:
- Understand the historical context of vision/sensory/cognitive training
- Recall Anatomy and physiology of the eye, brain, and body
- Explain the relationship between information processing and training tools
- Relate the demands of sport/life/work to visual and cognitive training
- Summarize relevant research findings & theories behind visual and cognitive training
