PEACE & LOVE is the new acronym for treating soft-tissue injuries developed by The Running Clinic and published in the prestigious British Journal of Sports Medicine.
This 5-hour online course explores beyond the letters of the acronym. Built by clinician-researchers, it gives the tools to push your practice to the next level, based on the highest level of scientific evidence, but also on reflection and coherence. Results from over 80 systematic reviews and expert consensus statements are analysed and summarised into relevant clinical applications.
The course explores the theoretical foundations and empirical evidence about tissue healing from immediate care (PEACE) to subsequent management (LOVE). It includes 4 hours of video presentations, a wide range of downloadable educational tools, as well as 4 case studies. Please view schedule below.
Your patients presenting with soft-tissue injuries will thank you for getting them back to their normal activities faster, and with better long-term outcomes! Be prepared to learn a lot, and get better results with your clients!
Learning Objectives:
- Determine for which reasons, for which grades and types of soft-tissue injuries, at which moments, through which means and with which types of patients to use modalities that promote protection or adaptation of soft tissues
- Connect the scientific evidence and clinical practices relative to elevation, anti-inflammatory modalities, compression, reloading of the musculoskeletal system as well as cardiovascular activity and rehabilitation exercises
- Apply the latest knowledge on the physiological and psychological effects of therapeutic options related to the management of soft-tissue injuries
- Use reliable and evidence-based criteria to guide patients toward medical investigation, when needed, as well as to adapt their therapeutic approach according to the information obtained through medical imaging results
- Use the most appropriate dosage to quantify mechanical stress and prescribe exercises that are individualised to patients and their signs and symptoms
