Lesson Plan

Low Back Pain is a huge problem for our patients/clients and they depend on us to give them answers and “fix” them. How frustrating is it to see your patient struggle with back pain, unable to do the activities they love to do, missing out on opportunities to share experiences with friends and family because they are afraid their back is going to “go out”. Bottomline is that it doesn’t matter how much you know or how much you educate someone. If you can’t get the person in front of you to buy in and do the work, the hours and thousands of dollars you spent on learning the cool exercises will be a waste. After attending this webinar, I want to make sure you leave with the tools and understanding to assess low back pain, program for low back pain and above all else get your patient or client to BUY IN.

Learning Objectives:

•    Relate when to help and NOT to help.
•    Recognize how to ask the right questions.
•    Review functional assessment for Low Back Pain.
•    Define how to simplify your programming, review the biggest misconceptions.
•    Illustrate how to set patient’s expectations.
•    Discuss analogies to communicate pain and recovery with patients.

Finally, my 3 favorite exercises to address LBP are a bit tricky given no context. But here are three that I will be covering in the webinar to give people some good stuff to use the next day.
1.    Squat
2.    Lunge
3.    Low Bear/Beast Crawl.
