Lateral Lumbar Film Analysis Reliability – CBP NP #3 Understanding the need for radiographic measurement of the lateral lumbar curve and sagittal thoraco-lumbar posture is a primary objective. Both inter and intra examiner reliablity assessment of the methods need to be performed and only methods with good to excellent examiner reliability should be used in clinical practice. The lumbar lordosis should be measured at all segmental levels as well as the total angle of curvature. The need and method for measurement of sagittal plane translation will also be presented and understood. The Harrison posterior tangent method for lateral lumbar radiographic measurement was found to have good to excellent examiner reliability.
A Normal Sagittal Spinal Configuration- Desirable Outcome – CBP # 4 This video details the evidence behind the concept that a theoretical and average normal alignment exists for the human spine and posture analysis. Evidence from anatomic, biomechanics, conservative, and surgical papers is used to argue the position that Chiropractors should strive to analyze and then optimize their patient’s spines towards normal data sets available in the literature.
